A video was posted on Twitter today by Loyiso Lugayeni Masuku, showing a spaza shop in Johannesburg allegedly selling expired baby formula and other expired foods.
The lady in the video questions the man “Who’s baby is going to drink this milk, this is expired” insinuating that any baby that drank the formula could get ill.
Towards the end of the video clip the inspectors are holding a bag of powder which was hidden and made the allegation that it could be drugs.
[WATCH]: in one of the spaza shops we confiscated meat which had expired. We are pleading with our citizens to please check the expiry dates before they purchase goods. @JoburgMPD @CityofJoburgZA pic.twitter.com/lCcieFsuds— Loyiso Lugayeni Masuku (@Loyiso_Masuku) May 16, 2020
Alongside expired formula, the inspectors found meat that had passed its expiry date.
