A video has been posted online by Yusuf Abramjee of a recent attack on a German who was visiting Cape Town with his partner. As he approached the entrance of the hotel two men came out of nowhere and attempt a robbery.
One of the men at first reached over his shoulder to try and grab something and the tourist retaliates by pushing him off him, he soon becomes overwhelmed by both of the men and is forced onto the floor.
His partner enters the safety of the hotel until she notices that he is on the floor and defenseless, he manages to find his feet and then his partner pulls him into the hotel. The thieves follow them into the lobby and later run away.
Former Mayor of Johannesburg, Herman Mashaba commented on the clip saying “We are facing a crisis, fast destroying our country.”
It has been reported that the man was so shaken up by this incident they both immediately left South Africa.
What others are saying
Government needs to decide what to do with criminals. Do they continue pampering them, or do they actually start treating them the same way they treat innocent citizens. This is not the EU. Our crimes are not EU level.

Get a gun. It’s legal to own one in South Africa. It seems it’s our responsibility to protect ourselves.
