A motorist in a small vehicle had a ‘dangerous’ encounter with a taxi driver in Durban just yesterday. In the video that has been posted on Social Media, you can see the taxi driver attempting to push the small vehicle off the road.
No information has been released on what exactly caused the dangerous standoff, but it’s clear to see that the situation was extremely dangerous for both motorists and those around them.
In the video clip, the incident started when the taxi driver approached from behind and begun to tailgate the small motorist driver. The taxi driver then makes attempts to undertake the vehicle, giving the motorist a scare and forcing him to swerve. It then appears the taxi driver applied his breaks while in front of the driver which forced him to make another dangerous maneuver, merely missing the concrete bollards.

Infact I never come across a decent taxi that obeys the road signs. I as an individual is fed up with the drivers, they just stop anywhere especially when u on the main street and you have a car head on behind you they just stop with no hazards. I hve to just apply brakes praying the person behind me is also quick to do so to avoid a a smash. As for the taxi ASSOCIATION they should just close it down, cos when you call in to complain, they state we must call the owner of the taxi. So what job do they also do. So fed with these taxi

This is a everyday issue with taxis. Cut lanes when ever they feel like and if an accident occurs they will never pay for the damage. There’s no wining here.

I see the car cutting in front of the taxi. And then blocking him, hence the taxi driver blocking him.. Not only taxi drivers do this.. I see motorists every morning cutting and blocking each other down titren Rd going towards the M7 and don’t worry whether you have kids in the car..
