A warrant of arrest has been issued for former President Jacob Zuma after he failed to appear in Pietermaritzburg High Court on Tuesday.
Judge Pillay ordered that a warrant for the arrest of Zuma be issued and the case be postponed until May 6, 2020.
Zuma’s legal team delivered an alleged doctored “sick letter” to the court on Tuesday.
The ANC made a statement on Wednesday calling Zuma a law-abiding citizen. Despite the arrest warrant issued for his arrest, the ANC advised South Africans to be “patient” with Jacob Zuma and allow him to resolve the issue when his corruption hearing resumes in May.
