The Supreme Court has declined an appeal that Jacob Zuma should not be prosecuted. Zuma is currently facing corruption charges that have been hanging over his shoulders for almost 15 years.
The Pietermaritzburg High Court had allegedly made a mistake back in November by not permanently acquitting him due to them not hearing any side of his defense from lawyers.
The Supreme Court has to look at all appeals and based on the claims they have chosen to decline the request as they see it to have “no chance of success”
Zuma will be due to appear in Pietermaritzburg court this May for a weapon agreement that allegedly took place by the South African government in the 1990s. The agreement between Zuma and French arms has shown to be fraudulent and know money laundering.
If Zuma does not attend court then the warrant for his arrest that was issued in February will be enforced.
