A woman was shot dead on Friday evening at a mall in Randparkrif, Johannesburg, in a hijacking attempt.
Roodepoort Northsider reported:
Honeydew CPF Patrollers received a call for assistance at 9.45pm last night alerting them to a shooting in the shopping centre.
Upon arrival at the scene Vitamed and Netcare 911 were already trying to save the life of a female victim who sadly died from a gunshot wound.
The police arrived at the scene and the forensic services carried out their investigations.
Police have not released much information by Saturday, saying only that it was a hijacking gone wrong.
“The investigation is ongoing and no further details can be disclosed at this stage,” the entry states.
Honeydew police spokesman Balan Muthan said on Saturday that police were investigating a murder and attempted hijacking.
Muthan could not reveal any details about the deceased.
