Waterkloof High School in Pretoria became a victim of cybercrime.
The attacker posted vulgar content on the school’s social media accounts, including Facebook and Instagram.
Experts say a person who is guilty of this could be jailed when found.
Chris Denysschen, principal of Waterkloof High School, said in a statement that the school became aware of the unpleasant content on its social media accounts. Some of the posts offended Waterkloof’s neighboring schools and fellow pupils in crude and reprehensible language.
“During the investigation, it became clear that unlawful access to the school’s social media platforms was obtained by an unknown party or parties,” said the principal.
According to the statement, a full investigation by the police’s cybercrime department was underway.
