Brent Simons said to Zondo “Zuma lied to parliament on June 22, 2016, saying he never helped a relative to obtain a contract.
Simons says Zuma was asked if he helped his son Duduzane Zuma or anyone else.
Zuma said no.
According to Simons, this is not true. He made an affidavit and sent to the leadership of the ANC as well as a parliament that Zuma did not speak the truth.
Simons said Zuma asked Chabane to help some young people with their business plans. Chabane asked Simons to listen to what the young people want, but keep them at a distance.
One of the young men at that stage (March 2014) was one Nqondisi Zuma. He also uses his mother’s surname, Mathembu.
Simons says they wanted to enter into contracts with the government to be the key service provider to manage cellphone contracts of government officials. This should be taken into account The group of young people also wanted to run the advertising system of the government’s GCIS.
