President Ramaphosa today attended a visit to OR Tambo screening facilities, these checkpoints and measures are in place to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 in South Africa.
OR Tambo has thousands of visitors touching down each day from all over the world. Placing the checkpoints at this major airport is a step forward to further prevent the spread of the virus.
At this stage, there have been 7 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in South Africa.
One Twitter user with an eagle eye spots the President shaking hands with the lady, the advise to the citizens from the Government is not to shake hands in attempts to prevent further spreading of the virus.
