“We sit with a situation in SA where people are angry and frustrated – we are 100% in support of both of today’s protests.” is what Lindy Wilson, Deputy Shadow Minister of the DA said today.
The Minister expressed how the Government does not have the rights to block people’s constitutional rights when citizens want to raise their voices.
Today marked a loud day for Cape Town where two groups were protesting at the same time – Those who stand against Gender-Based Violence and those against Farm Attacks in South Africa.
“We are appalled at farm murders and gender-based violence, especially under the lockdown regulations”
Wilson says how shocked she is that protests of this nature have been denied, people have a constitutional right to protest.
“Today’s protests were peaceful, until frustrations ran over, We will continue to support both causes”
