A 53-year-old was arrested on Wednesday in Johannesburg on charges of fraud and corruption.
The man was arrested after the Hawk’s team carried out a thorough investigation leading them to suspect fraudulent vehicle registration certificates being distributed by the suspect.
After further investigation, the Hawk’s also suspected fraudulent license discs being part of the illegal operation. They made the arrest at the man’s plates printing workshop where they seized cellphones, documents and laptops.
The suspect is expected to appear Johannesburg Magistrates Court on Thursday on charges of corruption, forgery, fraud and uttering.
