KYALAMI – Brigadier Mathapelo Peters has confirmed that the suspects of the white Audi A4 fled the scene after a failed hijacking attempt. Failed hijacking resulted in a husband shot dead and his wife wounded.

Peters released a statement confirming the victim was driving a Nissan X-Trail when she stopped on a red light intersection situation of Maple Road and Main Road. Two men rushed the vehicle and made attempts to get inside, the vehicle then rolled back and fell into a ditch.

Shots had allegedly been fired towards the couple with one connecting with the woman and hitting her upper body and killing the husband.

The woman victim was later rushed to a hospital to seek medical attention.
