Two adults and one child were killed Friday night and another person was injured when a vehicle collided with a stationary truck in Fochville, Gauteng.
The collision occurred at a gas station along the N12, ER24 spokesman Ross Campbell said.
“ER24 paramedics and the provincial and other emergency services were on the scene at 20:35. Two men in the front seats of the car sustained several fatal injuries and were pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics. “
According to Campbell, a young man, presumably in his 20s, and a boy, apparently eight or nine years old, were sitting in the back of the car.
“The boy and man sustained critical injuries and emergency treatment was started immediately. However, the boy succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The young man was transported by helicopter to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care. “
The authorities involved were at the scene for further investigation into the circumstances surrounding this fatal collision.
