Two Dutch tourists and a tour guide were attacked on a smallholding near Buffelsdrift, north of Pretoria, on Thursday evening.
Dicks Dietsrichsen, who lives on the holding and was there at the time of the attack, says the tourists “braaied” with the neighbors shortly before the attack. “When the neighbors came home, three armed men attacked them and their tour guide.”
The tour guide ran to find help. Two shots were fired at the elderly tourists. When the tour guide went to seek help, a shot was also fired at her. “
The suspects then fled.
Dietsrichsen says no one was injured. “However, everyone was very traumatized after the attack. The tourists and guide have already received counseling, ”he says.
He said one of the neighbors heard the screams and gunshots and reported the incident. The local policing forum, as well as police members, went to the holding.
Inquiries to the police remained unanswered. It is still unknown whether the attackers have been arrested.
