Kubayi-Ngubane says people in the tourism sector are fighting for survival.

2 495 applications were received from hotels, 1,825 from other places of residence, 1 780 applications from travel agencies and 662 general applications.
R30 million has been made available for tour guides who mostly do freelance work or are independent contractors. Many of them get the money because they do not qualify for unemployment insurance.
