Modimolle Police are requesting assistance from the public as they seek to find a man that is now wanted for alleged fraud. The man has alleged to have exploited desperate farmers between September 2011 and September 2019, Gauteng Province.
Farmers that were suffering tough times during droughts were approached by Stefanus Gerhardus Muller (32) who offered to sell bales. Muller did not have the stock, it was all part of the fraud – He allegedly requested the victims to hand over large deposits to be never seen again.
When found he will be in court facing three counts of fraud charges and one for an assault that occurred in Modjadjiskloof.
Police have requested Muller to give himself up to the nearest Police station or Modimolle Police Station. The suspect was last seen picking his children up from school.
This incident comes a day after NewsLiteSA previously reported on a fraud scheme aimed at South African farmers.
“Anyone with information that can lead to the arrest of the suspect or knows the whereabouts of Stefan is requested to contact Detective Sergeant Amanda Rossouw on 071 133 8524 or the Crime stop number 0860010111 or contact the nearest police station.” said Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo.
