One of Durban’s most wanted men was yesterday (30th December 2019) arrested by South African Police Service.
The suspect is allegedly involved with multiple taxi related murder cases that spans from Mandeni and other surrounding areas.
The Police were working hard to track the man down and narrowed the search down to Sundumbili where a search party commenced. The SAPS were patrolling the area when they noticed a group of people loudly chanting and singing inside a rondavel.
Upon investigating the premises they were greeted with a barrage of bullets, after some time had passed the situation was under control by the SAPS and two suspects were arrested.

Searches were carried out at the property and SAPS found two revolvers with matching calibre ammunition alongside 6 other firearms which were all seized, whilst the searches were being underway the main suspect and two other men fled the scene.
Time for celebrations
The main suspect chose to return to the property in the evening without any sense of fear that he would be arrested and at this point he chose it was the perfect time to get married to his fiance. Whilst the vows were in full swing the SAPS swooped in and placed the man under arrest.
The main suspect is due to appear in Nyoni Magistrates court some time today.
Lieutenant General Khominkosi Jula has congratulated his team for a successful raid and recovery of illegal firearms which is a step closer to safer streets
“We will endeavour with all the resources available to us to apprehend those involved in criminal activities within the taxi industry” he said.
