Security guards that were ambushed by armed robbers receive justice today, Three of the suspects that held them at gunpoint and stole cash are now behind bars.
It has been reported that the guards were carrying out their usual duties and were due to deliver money to a supermarket located in Setsing, CBD when the robbers came out of nowhere. The robbers took the cash held in the vehicle and later fled on foot.
Phuthaditjhaba Tactical Response Team began their investigations after they Phuthaditjhaba noticed a “suspicious” Renault vehicle in the area, it has been said that the vehicle had a GP registration plate. Further investigations led them to a house locted in Letshalemaduke village, it was there they found a vehicle that was reported stolen in Gauteng.
“A LM rifle with two magazines plus 59 rounds, a Z88 police firearm and 29 rounds, magnum clock (11 holo pointers) and another pistol with 16 rounds were found” said Col Thandi Mbambo
The three suspects that were arrested also were in possession of an undisclosed amount of cash along with the weapons.
Two suspects are still at large and on the run in an unknown vehicle and are said to also have a large amount of cash on them.
Col Thandi Mbambo has urged the public to come forward with any information they may have, all information received is treated as private and anonymous.
