Police continued his search for Heidi Scheepers and her two children, who have been missing since early Monday night, at dawn on Wednesday morning.
Scheepers, 35, her daughter (6) and boy (2) were last seen alive at Herolds Bay on Monday around 18:00, where they drove past the family’s shop, the Herolds Bay Cafe.
The three were in a gray Volkswagen Caravelle with the registration number CAW 66036.
Scheepers’ husband, Ettienne, reported them to the police several hours later, after they did not return home.
Capt. Police spokesman Malcolm Pojie said search teams had found a vehicle door panel in the meantime. However, there is still no confirmation that this is the missing bus.
A rescue helicopter is combing the environment out of the sky, police divers have been deployed and rescue teams are combing the ground in the area. Pojie said high tide hampered the search at this stage.
The search teams are still concentrating on the Voëlklip area.
