Early hours this morning when shop owners were preparing to open their business they were approached by two suspicious men that were waiting outside for them.
The business owners without time to retaliate were in what they thought to be dangerous situation where the men pointed a ‘toy’ gun towards them. The shop owners were inside at the time when the men demanded that the doors were locked and then proceeded to hand over cash to them.

Two of the suspects were later spotted in the roof of the shop where they made attempts for refuge, whilst hiding they were found with imitation fire arms and the cash that was stolen during the robbery.
It has been disclosed that the robbers are aged 27 and 28, they are expected to attend the Pietermaritzburg Magistrates Court (2nd January 2020)
Fast Response
The robbers did not have chance to flee the scene as witnesses near by quickly alerted officers and this is when they flung into action, without hesitation the officers applied force to the door of the shop to gain entry and apprehend the robbers.
Lieutenant General Khombinkosi Jula has praised the police officers that were quick to respond to the incident.
