The ANC will announce on Monday afternoon the decisions taken by the party’s national executive committee (NEC) at its interesting special meeting this past weekend.

ANC spokesperson Pule Mabe confirmed on Monday morning that the party would inform the media about this at an online news conference around 16:00.

The three-day online NEC meeting was from Friday to Sunday.

Earlier it was reported that Pres. Cyril Ramaphosa had to endure scathing attacks at the meeting while his opponents reportedly attacked his credibility over the weekend. He was accused, among other things, of buying votes in his CR17 campaign for the ANC presidency.

The drama at the NEC meeting followed Ramaphosa’s internal letter to ANC members in which he wrote that the party stood as “accused number one” in the dock in terms of corruption.

The ANC News Conference will outline what decisions were finally made at the NEC meeting

More to come on this story once it is available.
