An underage girl from Israel was allegedly raped in an armed robbery on tourists in a rental house, north of Phalaborwa, in Limpopo.
The robbery has been condemned from several places, especially in light of the fact that crime against tourists is damaging the South African tourism industry.
Three robbers, two of whom had firearms, hi the house in Silonque Nature Reserve on Thursday and detained nine foreigners, a police statement said.
The robbers got away in a stolen Mercedes-Benz with cash, cell phones, laptops, and jewelry. The abandoned car was later found 10 km down the road in the bushes.
According to sources who were at the scene of the robbery on Thursday night, the robbers took the underage girl to a separate room where she was allegedly raped.
Update
Police and the family of a minor girl from Israel deny that she was raped during an armed robbery outside Phalaborwa in Limpopo.
Naidoo said Monday morning that no one had been arrested yet. He confirmed that no rape complaint was being investigated.
It is yet unknown why the story changed, the family wanted to leave South Africa immediately after this happened.
“The girl’s mother was only concerned about the pills (PEP) which, after exposure to HIV / Aids, reduced the chance of the virus catching on. There was also no female doctor on duty, and she did not want her daughter to be examined by a man. They just wanted to leave,”
