Jacob Zuma failed to appear in court on Tuesday. The former president’s legal team handed in a “sick letter”.
Judge Dhaya Pillay pointed out the sick letter was inadequate and vague.
Zuma’s attorney, Dan Mantsha, says it’s a document from the Military Hospital in Pretoria.
The lawyer of Zuma pointed out that the doctor who signed the sick letter is with Zuma abroad where he is receiving treatment and is therefore not in court to testify about it.
He says the health of a former president is a matter of concern to the country and the military. The doctor who signed the certificate is a military doctor.
