The Business for South Africa Public Health Workgroup has asked for urgent help in the battle against Coronavirus in the country. They have urged that businesses that can help provide Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) contact them as soon as possible.
In a statement from BSAPH that they call upon all businesses during these hard times to “divert their stock” of PPE and send these towards those on the frontline of the National Healthcare Sector.
“We appeal to all South African businesses, whether large or small, to unlock their stocks in the best national interest. Critical to turning the tide against the COVID-19 pandemic is ensuring that our frontline doctors and healthcare workers are protected from the virus, to ensure South Africa’s most effective response.”
In the statement released by SANews.gov.za they have said that throughout all sectors there are businesses that have PPE available for their workforce, however, these stocks are urgently needed for the National Health Care efforts to combat the virus.
The Business for SA Public Health Workgroup has released a list of PPE that is urgently needed:
- Masks (N95 Grade)
- Surgical Masks
- Latex-free gloves (Sterile is not a requirement)
- Plastic aprons
- Visors and googles for eye protection
- Gowns and suits
- Overshoes
