A man, 36, was arrested Monday night after the murder of a Limpopo student and will soon face a murder charge in the Lephalale Magistrate’s Court.
The bloodied body of Tshidi Mocheko, 27, was found outside a home in Onverwacht, Lephalale, on Monday morning.
Brig. Motlafela Mojapelo, Limpopo police spokesman, says Mocheko was stabbed several times with a sharp object.
Her body was found in her boyfriend’s sister’s yard.
Mocheko is the second student at a TVET college in Limpopo killed in the past two months.
In December, Precious Ramabulana, 21, a student at TVET College in Botlokwa, about 40 km north of Polokwane, was killed.
She was robbed in a room she rented in a house near the university campus. She had more than 50 stab wounds.
Aubrey Manaka, 28, was arrested shortly after Ramabulana’s murder at his parents’ home in the Botlokwa area.
He was also charged last week with the rape of an underage girl before the murder of Ramabulana.
Manaka is also charged with raping Ramabulana. He denies guilt.
However, he did not apply for bail and is due to appear in the Polokwane High Court on March 30.
