By Saturday morning, only three of the prisoners who had escaped from prison in Malmesbury were still at large.
Another three of the prisoners who escaped from the Medium B section early Friday afternoon were arrested between 20:00 and Saturday morning, a reliable source confirmed.
Justice and Correctional Services Minister Ronald Lamola will visit the prison on Saturday at 13:00 and address the media.
A group of 69 prisoners, some of whom are awaiting trial, escaped shortly after 12:00 on Friday when they overpowered and locked up three guards.
Members of the police, the Department of Correctional Services and neighborhood watches launched an extensive search throughout the day, arresting most of the inmates.
Some of the people were caught in Malmesbury’s neighborhoods and others by members of the public in the town center.
At least three prisoners were stopped by members of the public on the N7 just outside Malmesbury.
Police continued the search through the evening with the help of a helicopter.
