Police launched a massive search after Heidi Scheepers, 35, and her two children, a girl, and boy of six and two years old, disappeared without a trace in the vicinity of Herolds Bay on Tuesday afternoon.
Police spokesman Malcolm Pojie said the family was spotted at about 6pm yesterday as they drove past their store in Herolds Bay. The three were in a Volkswagen Caravelle with the registration number CAW 66036.
Scheepers’ husband, Ettienne, reported his family missing at the George Police Station shortly after 8pm after they did not return home, Pojie said.
He said police members, the National Sea Rescue Institute, security companies and emergency services companies were involved in the search for the three.
The search is currently focused on where the three were last seen. “We follow all the clues,” Pojie said. However, preliminary indications are that they did not leave the immediate vicinity.
Anyone with information about where the family is can call the George police station on 044 803 4400.
