Illegal land occupiers erected a metal structure on private land in Vlakplaas, west of Pretoria, on Friday.
A concerned resident of the area, who wished to remain anonymous, said the occupiers were still on the ground late Friday afternoon.
The resident says this is not the first time the squatters have made themselves on the ground. Police demolished previous structures that the squatters had erected.
The resident says the landowners are concerned. “We are faced with a problem and we are not getting enough help. It is not supposed to last that long. ”
Inquiries have been directed to the police, but no response has yet been received.
This past weekend, land invaders also hit south of Johannesburg.
Marietjie Gericke reported that hundreds of land occupiers marched to Elandsfontein and Grassmere on Saturday where they allegedly tried to evict the legal owners of their land.
