A hiker who went on a walk outside Kalk Bay with a group on Tuesday collapsed and died.
He was already dead when members of the Wilderness Search and Rescue (WSAR) arrived. The hiker’s age is unknown.
WSAR spokesman Johan Marais said the other hikers in the group called the emergency helicopter and workers of the Cape Town subway shortly before 10am.
By 10:30 a paramedic was brought to the hikers on the Trappieskop hiking trail at Clovelly.
The remains were taken from the mountain and handed over to the forensic services. An inquest will be conducted.
