Health Minister Zweli Mkhize asked all South Africans to remain calm.
“What are we afraid of? It’s not that bad, provided we empower ourselves with knowledge about the coronavirus. ”
“It was only a matter of time before the virus would be identified here. In fact, the virus will occur in every country in the world. No one can stop it and there is nothing we can do about it, ”says Mkhize.
“There is no cure for Covid-19, but we treat the symptoms. It alleviates the discomfort of those who contract the virus. Your body will then identify and adapt the virus itself to fight it. ”
Mkhize says it can take up to 14 days for the body to eradicate the virus.
“There is no reason to panic. We have everything under control. ”
“Keep a handkerchief or tissue for your mouth when sneezing. Wash your hands when you were in the bathroom, when you sneeze or cough and before you cook, ”he says.
According to him, only 5% of people who contract the virus get seriously ill.
Mkhize says all three patients in South Africa who tested positive for the virus are in good condition.
