Eight lions have been killed, Koster Police found the lions at the lodges in Swartruggens. The Police received information that the lions were found dead that morning, the paws and snouts were cut-off.

Right now no one has been arrested however the investigation will continue.

If poachers are behind the attack the usual victims are Tigers, but it has been reported that Tigers are becoming rarer over the years. The National Geographic reported that Lions are slowly becoming the target for poachers.
