Fikile Mbalula addressed the use of alcohol and cigarettes in South Africa.
According to Mbalula, people who were drunk were still caught during the restriction.
“We are a nation of alcohol abusers.” the minister said.
The Minister says “People should be decent when drinking. They should not drink and drive. Alcohol must be managed”.
Mbalula also said that Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma did not make the decision on cigarettes, it is a decision of the Cabinet.
Only people who smoke complain about cigarettes. But there are other people who do not like it.
The government says people should not smoke because the unknown virus attacks people’s respiratory system. If you disagree, go and fight with the scientists, says Mbalula.
Ramaphosa says the worst is yet to come, we must be ready.

On churches that are now open again, he says the new regulations are not unchangeable. If the government makes a mistake and opens churches, and the churches say they disagree, that’s what they say. The government appreciates it.
Mbalula also talks about face masks and says people should wear it. He says he has seen people in the townships wearing masks.
