A gardener found the body of a 54-year-old woman on Saturday who was robbed in her home on a smallholding outside Mbombela in Mpumalanga.
“Four men overpowered the woman from Uitkyk Plot 13, tied her up and stabbed her to death with a sharp object before fleeing with her cellphone and a firearm,” says Leonard Hlathi, provincial police spokesman.
“Her gardener saw ger body seeing suspects running away. He went to the neighbors for help. “
Police are investigating a murder case.
No one has been arrested in connection with the attack.
Police, meanwhile, have called on the public to come forward with information about the incident.
