A man was shot dead in a farm attack in the Boschkop area outside Pretoria on Tuesday evening.

Ian Cameron, AfriForum’s head of community safety, says a woman was also stabbed in the attack.

“The attackers also threw boiling water over her,” Cameron says.

The man was shot in the chest and tied up after which he was thought to have bled to death.

On Wednesday morning, members of AfriForum’s neighborhood watch in Boschkop were on the farm to search for at least four armed men with police.

The victims’ names may not be released yet because their family members have not yet been notified of the incident.

Gauteng police spokeswoman Mathapelo Peters has not yet responded to inquiries.

Police confirmed a 68-year-old farmer was shot dead by four gunmen outside Boschkop.

He says boiling water was poured on women’s legs. She was hospitalized.

A television set, two iPhones and other electronic equipment were stolen.

Charges of murder and housebreaking are being investigated.

There were at least 3 attacks in South Africa over the last 24 hours.
