Eskom is having a nightmare these past few days, they have just announced that Stage 4 will remain until Friday. The cause of the increased stage is due to the Koeberg Unit 1 unit tripping. Alongside the trip there was a faulty pump present at Koeberg which has now been repaired, Eskom reassured that the nuclear reactor was safe.
Eskom has announced that Stage 4 will remain until Friday and has also said that they expect varying levels of loadshedding to remain throughout the weekend.
Emergency energy reserves are currently being used in attempts to keep up with the supply, some of the units are expected to be back online tonight which could help ease the constraints.
In the latest statement provided Eskom did not disclose the planned and unplanned outages which usually exists in their statements.
The usual advice is being given for South Africans to reserve their consumption.
