Eskom consumers remain in the dark despite promising their online services will be back operational, South African citizens are at despair right now with very little patience towards the service as Stage 4 loadshedding is active and will remain until Friday.
Social Media today has been riddled with “memes” after Eskom, the provider of electricity has also suffered from outages which could allegedly be due to power issues.
The first official statement of the outage was released at 9:44 am with the company apologizing for the outage and reassuring the public that they are working on the issue. Many hours had passed and another statement was released at 3:44 pm again apologizing for the inconvenience caused and reassuring the public they are still working on the issue.
We are currently loadshedding in stage 4.— Eskom Hld SOC Ltd (@Eskom_SA) March 11, 2020
We regret that Eskom's systems are currently down and customers are unable to access schedules. Our IT dept is working on the problem and we hope to be back online as soon as possible. We apologise for this inconvenience.
During this outage, which is still happening at 10:47 pm no internal calls are routing to the company and the website is offline.
Our editors at NewsLiteSA monitor the Social Media space and saw a post by Eskom on Twitter saying their “IT Services are back online”, upon further investigation they were offline and the Tweet was later removed.
