Emotional and angry residents gathered outside the home of murdered Tazné van Wyk (8) on Thursday after her body was found in a stormwater pipe outside Worcester in the Western Cape on Wednesday night.

Meanwhile, many residents flocked to the Van Wyks home where they expressed anger at the police handling the case. Some residents claimed police search for the girl was ineffective.
Albert Fritz, Western Cape Community Safety MEC, expressed his condolences to Tazné’s family on Thursday. “They are going through a stormy period of uncertainty, confusion and pain. No parent should have to endure the loss of their child. ”
