An elderly man (82) from Randburg in Johannesburg managed to get out just in time when a fire broke out at his home on Saturday morning.
Ross Campbell, spokesperson for ER24, said in a statement that paramedics and the local fire department were called to a house in Gordon Road in Bergbron at about 10:45.
According to Campbell, an elderly man was found outside the burning house on arrival. The man managed to get away just in time before the house was destroyed.
The man was examined at the scene for smoke inhalation and was found unharmed.
Campbell said paramedics were still on the scene by this afternoon to investigate the firefighters who extinguished the fire.
