Today the EFF has chosen to postpone all mass gathering due to the ongoing fears of COVID-19 in South Africa, this comes a day after President Ramaphosa’s national speech where he declared it as a “national state of disaster”.
The EFF has expressed that their decision to suspend all events until further notice did not come easy but they said it was “considerate of the measures that need to be taken to curb the spread of the virus and protect South Africans”
The EFF Sharpeville Massacre Commemoration Rally was due to take place on the 21st of March 2020, this has now been canceled to protect South Africans.
The EFF has said that they will communicate any changes from their leadership in the future and urged that all South Africans follow the advice given by the Department of Health.
