EFF Commissar, Mbuyiseni Ndlozi made a statement on Twitter that South Africans should not have to pay rent, rates, electricity, water, and bonds for the next four months.

Ndlozi also called for free DSTv and free data for the next four months.

The EFF wants a price cap on bread, milk, toilet paper and sanitizer during this time.

Ndlozi hopes for the announcement from President Ramaphosa tonight while addressing the nation.

After the President Ramaphosa’s meetings today with business leaders, political leaders and the National Command Council, he will address the country.

Political leaders from various parties spoke out today:

Bantu Holomisa of the UDM says if we want to overcome the virus, we need to show discipline. We need to send a strong message to municipalities that areas like garbage dumps are being cleaned.

Shaik Emam of the NFP calls for all South Africans to emerge as one family, especially in light of economic conditions. According to him, a state of restriction will occur if people do not heed the measures.

Lekota says he wants the people of the country to survive. Lekota says when he looks at news channels like CNN, everyone seems to work together. He asks that people obey the President’s measures.
