A 21-year-old suspect has been arrested by Crime Prevention in the Eastern Cape after he was found to have ‘plastic bags’ containing dagga.
The Crime Prevention Unit working alongside Visible Policing received information that a man at the Sterkspruit taxi rank had quantities of dagga on his possession. When they arrived at the taxi rank they saw the man inside his taxi which was parked outside, the information provided by the community was accurate, 8 plastic bags filled with dagga were seized.
Arrests were immediately made and the suspect remains in custody at the Sterkspruit Police station.
The suspect is due to attend court today.
Sterkspruit Crime Prevention has been congratulated by Col Chris Wright, Cluster commander, for the arrest of the suspect who had “huge quantity of dagga”. Wright also goes on to congratulate the community who gave the information which leads to the arrest.
