Nkosi Phathekile Holomisa, the Deputy Minister of Correctional Services, tested positive for Covid-19.
Holomisa is in self-isolation at his home and he follows all the necessary measures. Government spokesman Phumla Williams said he was in a good mood and determined to get well. All persons who have been in direct contact with Holomisa will be contacted and quarantined.
“We wish him all the best. We look forward to his full recovery, ”added Jackson Mthembu, the presidency minister. “While the world has been plagued by the pandemic over the past few months, the coronavirus has shown that it has no boundaries and anyone can contract the virus.”
The government is warning South Africans to adhere to the prevention measures such as wearing a mask, applying social distancing, washing hands regularly and thoroughly and avoiding large groups of people. People should also seek medical attention if they experience symptoms such as fever, cough and breathing problems.
