The taxi task team of the Western Cape police is investigating a shooting incident on Monday night in Delft that claimed the lives of three people.
Brig. Novela Potelwa, police spokesperson, says police officers were called to the corner of Main Street and Symphony Road in Delft at around 20:30.
“When police members arrived on the scene, they found three bodies with gunshot wounds in the road,” said Potelwa.
One of the victims (40) was identified as a taxi owner. He was shot several times.
The other two victims, presumably in their 30s, sustained gunshot wounds to their torso.
“The motive for the shooting incident is apparently related to conflict in the taxi industry.”
