The suspected leader of the Terrible Josters in Elsies River, Delft, Kleinmond and Wesbank is back behind bars.
Horatio (Voudie) Solomon, 30, was arrested at a home in Elsies River on Thursday after breaking his bail conditions, among others.
Solomon has previously appeared in the Cape Town High Court with other suspected gang members on 77 counts of murder, attempted murder, illegal possession of drugs, unlicensed firearms and ammunition and charges of Organized Crime Law in connection with. He is not allowed to put his feet in Elsies River and the other neighborhoods where the gang apparently has a hold, according to his bail conditions.
He was released on bail of R10 000 in December. As part of his bail conditions, he had to stay in his Durbanville Hills home and report to the Durbanville Police Station every Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 06:00 and 20:00.
A police spokesman, Col. Andrè Traut, confirmed that a man, 30, was arrested for possession of two unlicensed firearms.
Eric Ntabazalila, spokesman for the Office of the Public Prosecution Directorate in the Western Cape (DOV), said on Sunday that Solomon had already appeared in Goodwood Magistrate’s Court on Thursday, April 30, on charges related to breach of his bail conditions.
The case against him was postponed until May 6. On his next appearance, Ntabazalila is also charged with a charge under the National Disaster Management Act.
Ntabazalila also said a second person was arrested along with Solomon. The person appeared in court on charges of unlawful possession of two unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
