A suspect appeared in the Taung Magistrate’s Court in North West on Friday morning in connection with the recent attack on the couple Schalk (64) and Lana Coetzee (63) on their farm outside Reivilo in this province.
Schalk and Lana were attacked and assaulted by three attackers on their farm last weekend. Schalk was burned with boiling water during the incident and hit Lana in the face. Lana managed to stumble to the neighboring farm and ask for help.
According to a report, the couple has been in a hospital ever since.
A photo distributed by Lana shows that she sustained serious injuries to her face and both eyes were swollen after the attack. Robbers allegedly put Schalk in the shower and burned his back with boiling water.
