The management of a transport company in Boksburg on the East Rand has promised a reward of R50 000 for information that could lead to the arrest of a group of criminals who hijacked a truck with a consignment of face masks last week.
According to the investigating officer, ao Willem van Aswegen, the truck was hijacked on April 16 in Boksburg. The truck had a consignment of 250 000 masks worth R7 million.
The driver was not hurt, says Van Aswegen.
The truck was later found without a consignment of face masks in Thembisa.
“A reward of R50 000 is offered in exchange for information that could lead to the arrest of the suspects as well as the recovery of the face masks,” says Van Aswegen.
