Police found a R200 000 Khat drug seized on a passenger bus traveling to Cape Town on Sunday evening in Kimberley.
According to Brig. Police spokesman Mohale Ramatseba found the drugs inside the bus. However, the drugs could not be connected to any of the passengers on the bus.
Members of the police K9 unit and the visible policing unit were waiting for the bus at the Kimberley Information Center after receiving information that the drugs were being transported on the bus.
Ramatseba said the bus was traveling from Gauteng to Cape Town and had to stop on its route in Kimberley.
The bus was searched there.
The drugs were allegedly loaded onto the bus in Gauteng and were apparently destined to be delivered in Cape Town.
Ramatseba did not want to disclose the name of the bus company at this stage and said the incident was being investigated.
