Two Police officers and a civilian accomplice have been arrested on allegation of business robbery to a local tuckshop in Kimberley.
It has been reported that the officers allegedly stormed the shop around 6 PM and forcefully robbed the shop owner of an undisclosed amount of cash and 25 full cartons of cigarettes.
“The two police officers were arrested at their place of work and their accomplice was arrested at his residence in Roodepan. “
“It is alleged one of the police officer was wearing police uniform during the robbery.”
“An undisclosed amount of cash was found in possession of the civilian suspect and was confiscated.” said Brig Mohale Ramatseba
The three suspects are due to appear at the Kimberley Magistrate’s Court and face charges of business robbery.
The Provincial Commissioner has spoken about the unlawful attack on the business and condemns the actions
“The South African Police Service in the Northern Cape will do everything possible to ensure that rotten police officers are exposed and sent to jail where they belong,” said Lt Gen Shivuri.
