KwaZulu-Natal police on Sunday arrested a man for questioning after he allegedly stabbed someone with a sword.
“A 30-year-old man was found in Maple Drive in Trenance Park, Verulam, at about 9.40am on Sunday. He was wounded with a sword in the neck, shoulder and joint and treated by paramedics before being taken to hospital. He lost a lot of blood, but is in a stable condition, ”said Prem Balram, spokesman for local security company Reaction Unit South Africa (Rusa), who was called to the scene.
“The circumstances that led to the incident are still unclear at this stage,” Balram says.
“Eyewitnesses did confirm that the injured man, who had a knife, was involved in a fight with the other. He was wounded several times with a sword. “
Balram said bystanders found the wounded man lying on the street and bleeding.
Col. Police spokesperson Thembeka Mbele says police are investigating what led to the incident.
