The Galeshewe Family Violence Child Protection and Sexual Offences Unit has been investigating an incident they received on the 25th April 2020 where a 52-year old father has allegedly been raping his daughter.
It has been alleged that the father has been committing the offenses since 2018.
The 22-year-old woman who has not been named struggled to come forward as the accused threatened to post naked photos of her online if she broke the silence.
“The victim finally brought her ordeal to the surface on 25 April 2020, thus leading to the suspect’s arrest today, 29 April 2020.” said Brig R Ramatseba
The Provincial Commissioner of the Northern Cape, Ltnt General Risimati Peter Shivuri has urged that anyone being sexually abused should break the silence and allow the law to deal with them.
“Heinous criminal acts perpetrated by heartless criminals cannot be curbed if they are not reported to the authorities,” said Ltnt General Shivuri.
The suspect is due to appear in court tomorrow, 30th April 2020, any attempts for bail will be refused.
Police will continue with their investigation
